The manuscript of my latest book in the Westward Sagas series was completed in the spring of 2022. It took me three years to write Sheriff of Starr County, the fifth book in the Westward Sagas series. Writing it was easy. Producing a first-class book for international distribution takes a knowledgeable team of professionals.
My last three books could not have happened without the help of my longtime assistant Holly Langford who has copy edited every keystroke of my work before sending it to the editor Jan McClintock. Jan previously edited Children of the Revolution. It was Jan who introduced me to cover designer Cynthia Lee. Cynthia created the awesome cover. Mickey Mikkelson’s agency, Creative Edge, is my publicist and Aimee Ravichandran at Abundantly Social handles social media and local publicity. Beta readers who read and reviewed Sheriff of Starr County last summer were Paul Ruckman, Dorothy Breezee, author Bill Willis, Doc Puryear, and Minerva Mares. Their suggestions and ideas were an immense help. They chose the name Sheriff of Starr County. As Doc said, “that’s what the story is about.”
Last, but not least, is a big thanks to the Twig Book Shop at the Pearl for hosting the team for our Book Release Party, February 7, 2023, 5-7 p.m. The Twig is San Antonio’s oldest and foremost bookstore celebrating fifty years in business.
