Angelina Eberly Hosts the President

On the evening of October 18, 1839, Angelina Eberly prepared a meal for the President of the Republic of Texas, Mirabeau Lamar, and his cabinet. The meal was served in her boarding house on the corner of Lavaca and Pecan two blocks west of Congress. She is immortalized not for her cooking and housing of three Presidents, but for firing a cannon stopping the removal of the Republic of Texas archives from Austin. Find out more about Angelina in the award-winning Comanche Trace, Book 4 in the Westward Sagas series and www.davidabowlesauthor.com or www.westwardsagas.com.
